Speech Course For A Stutter

November 30th, 2011

This article describes the type of stutter speech courses which are available. In general they are designed to help people who stutter to achieve fluency.

During the first couple of days of the course, this is where the stutter speech coach normally describes the techniques which are required to overcome the stutter.

The first day is normally the most important day. This is the client’s easy day, as the coach will do most of the talking, explaining in detail around half of the speech rules required to beat the stutter. They are likely to ask the client to talk about their history, including information about how their stutter started, about their family, about their interests, plus any other information they would like to disclose for example, where they work. The client will have at least one further speech task on this first day, which they will be asked to complete after they have heard the first set of rules.

On the second day the client becomes more involved, starting to put into practice what they have learnt from the previous day. The final speech rules are taught on this day.

The final three days are spent practising, enabling the rules to start becoming embedded as a natural part of the clients speech.

Some of the areas included in the courses could be:

1. Why people stutter.

2. Telephone technique.

3. Interview technique.

4. Public speaking technique.

5. The speech rules:

The person who has a stutter should not worry about the contents of the stutter course. If there is an area of the course that they would rather not cover or do they simply do not normally have to do it.

Each course is unique, as every stutterer is different this is why courses are usually run on a one-to-one basis.

People are able to keep in contact after the course via e-mail and telephone which acts as a form of back up and continued support.

For people who are unable to attend a course there is the option of purchasing a self help dvd or ebook, however people who attend a course leave with a copy of these at no extra cost.

Thesis and Anxiety: Surviving the Last Challenge before Graduation

November 30th, 2011

Every college student knows that at the end of their last year of college, they are bound to make an extraordinarily long and hard paper for their professor. This may be of any topic, as long it it related to their course or degree. Thesis writing is crucial in determining the academic standing of the student, an intricate project that would allow them the chance to finally graduate from college. It is the last designated work for them, and their thesis would be one of the bases for their final grade. The thesis may be submitted in the form of the written paper or dissertation, documentary films, case studies, or even actual projects or proto-type machines or designs.

Blu-ray Technology

November 30th, 2011

New technology is now making it possible for viewers to record and store high definition programming onto DVDs. Blu-ray Disc is one method of recording HD content onto an optical disc. A blue-laser optical disc (MPEG-2 or MPEG-4) is used. Systems that use this technology will be able to play traditional DVDs, but the goal of Blu-ray is to create an image that’s as close to the HD format as possible. The name Blu-ray comes from the blue laser that decodes and copies information to each disk. Blu-ray technology may very well revolutionize the world of high definition programming. The Blu-ray disc format offers greater potential for storage, usually 25 gigabytes, which exceeds that of a standard DVD (15 gigabytes). One single-layer Blu-ray disk can hold about four hours of high definition content. A two-layer disk can contain eight hours of HD content. Four- and eight-layer disks are now in the works. These disks would have storage capabilities of 100 and 200 gigabytes. The Blu-ray recording system utilizes a shorter wavelength for recording information than traditional CDs and DVDs, and this is part of what allows it to hold more content on a single disk.

Blu-ray has also influenced the computer industry, specifically in terms of data storage capability. A number of major companies have come out in support of Blu-ray, including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, Pioneer, and Sony. Hewlett Packard plans to market desktop computers and laptops that utilize Blu-ray technology. Sony has announced that it will introduce a Blu-ray component in PlayStation 3, which is expected to appear in November of this year. Microsoft has also said that it may add a Blu-ray component to its Xbox 360. Currently, Blu-ray is only available in Japan, but it will appear in the United States in May, in video games and a DVD system that recreates a high definition effect on a viewer’s TV.

Many movie studios have Blu-ray films planned for future release. In 2005, Sony Pictures cornered the market on the first Blu-ray feature-length movie disk, which was none other than Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Studios that support the technology include Walt Disney and Twentieth Century Fox.

Competing with Blu-ray in the area of HD storage is HD DVD. HD DVD disks have less storage capability, but they’re cheaper to produce. Other big-name companies are showing their support for this option, including Microsoft, Intel and Toshiba, as well as Universal Studios. In what may be the smartest move, some companies are backing both types of technology, ensuring that their products support both Blu-ray and HD DVD. These companies include Samsung, Paramount and Warner Brothers.

Blu-ray is facing challenges from other competitors in the HD market: the Enhanced Versatile disk, the Digital Multilayer disk, and the Holographic Versatile disk are a few alternatives to Blu-ray. But at the moment, Blu-ray has a strong lead in the HD race. Check out New Technology TV for more information.

How To Care For Your Animation Art – 5 Common Questions.

November 30th, 2011

Can we handle Animation Cels? Unframed Animation Cels should be handled as little as possible, preferably not at all. When handling your cel, it would be best to use clean cloth gloves. With or without gloves, cels are best handled by the edges.

Where can I store an unframed Animation Cel? Store it upright, in a cool room, away from sources of direct heat or sunlight. Cels seem to store better in moderate humidity: not too dry and not too moist. Do NOT store in a Kitchen, bathroom, loft or cellar, unless properly insulated.

Where should I not hang a framed piece of Art? Do not hang any art where direct sunlight can cross it and neither hand it above a radiator. Watch for hot-spots reflected from glass tables; it can be just as damaging as direct sunlight. If there is a high amount of reflected sunlight, you will want to make sure your cel is framed with a UV-reflective material.

Can I clean an Animation Art Cel myself? No, under any circumstances, do not attempt to clean a cel yourself. Leave this to the professionals such as your framer, who can remove minor smudges and other imperfections, and they should do so with extreme care.

How should I frame my artwork? Always frame your art with the highest quality materials. Use acid-free mats and backing, especially for framing drawings or other, paper based artwork.

If you are choosing a piece of Art it is easy and safe to purchase over the internet, but choosing a frame is very personal and is more advisable to be done in person at a local framing gallery, as you can choose the exact size and colour to compliment your cel and the room it is to be displayed in.

Artwork that is shipped framed can become warped, especially if it is a large piece, or if it is stretched on canvas. Additionally glass or perspex can crack or smash and damage your artwork.

Acupuncture Quit Smoking Therapy

November 29th, 2011

Acupuncture quit smoking therapy offers real solid hope to countless smokers who are trying to quit smoking. It was discovered via the traditional Chinese acupuncture practices which exists long ago. Acupuncture is the application of needles on specific chi points of a humans body. Each chi point or a combination of chi points correspond to certain body organs of systems and thus the human physiology is affected through acupuncture.

An acupuncture quit smoking therapy is an alternative smoking cessation method. It doesn’t involve any medications which is why many people with complex medical condition can practice it.

What are the advantages, disadvantages and the things you should be aware of in the acupuncture quit smoking method:

Advantagess and Disadvantages of acupuncture quit smoking therapy.

Acupuncture is a non-medical treatment way that does not include any use if chemical or herbal medications. It helps though stimulation of specific body points usually situated on the eras and the face. The result is reduced cravings and cessation symptoms relief.

Unfortunately acupuncture quit smoking method does not give very satisfactory results. Although some patients feel significant improvement in their condition, the rate of the unsuccessful treatments is quite high.

What you should look for if planning to undergo acupuncture quit smoking treatment.

Ask your doctor for the best acupuncture specialists in your area; do not just go to the first address that you will find in the newspaper ads. It is necessary that you attend a specialist who is experienced in smoking cessation treatment. Try to find a well know and establishes acupuncture quit smoking clinic so that you are comfortable with the service provided.

Ask for testimonials from previous customers when you go to the clinic. Make sure what your treatment will include as the options vary some clinics may offer you single session while other can offer you a package of services including initial medical exam, a number of sessions depending on your conditions, and a follow up treatment.

Modern alternatives of the acupuncture quit smoking treatment.

A modern way of stop smoking treatment employing the same principles as acupuncture is the laser treatment. The difference is that instead of needles low-level lasers are used. For some people the laser treatment is the preferred way because there is no breach of skin while in acupuncture the needles are pinned into the skin that can result into irritations and infections. Another significant difference is that the results that the laser treatment gives are much more positive than the traditional acupuncture.

And a Child Shall Lead Them

November 29th, 2011

Rookie goaltenders have had success in the Stanley Cup Playoffs before most notably with Ken Dryden in 1971 and Patrick Roy in 1986, both leading the Montreal Canadiens to the Cup but never before has a crop ofrookie goalies dominated the playoffs like they have this season.

Of the five remaining teams in this years playoffs, three are led by rookie goalies and another by a first-year starter.Carolinas Cam Ward, Buffalos Ryan Miller, Anaheims Ilya Bryzgalov, and San Joses Vesa Toskala have all enjoyed incredible playoff success thus far.

Seven-year veteran Dwayne Roloson of the Edmonton Oilers, who was acquired in a mid-season trade with the Minnesota Wild, is the only experienced goaltender left.I dont think anyone would have predicted that, especially with the presence of such big-name goalies as Martin Brodeur and Miikka Kiprusoff, and other veteran backstops or NHL powerhouses like Detroits Manny Legace, Dallass Marty Turco, and Colorados Jose Theodore, among the contenders.

The New Favorite

Thanks to a surprisingly easy 4 games to 1 victory over the New Jersey Devils, and a dominating performance winning four straight games over Montreal after losing the first two in Round 1, the Carolina Hurricanes have emerged as the new favorite to win Lord Stanleys Cup.Despite finishing the regular season with 112 points, just 1 behind Eastern Conference leader Ottawa, the Hurricanes odds of winning the Cup entering the playoffs were posted at 10-1.That was before the oddsmakers had seen Ward turn away almost every shot hes faced.

In 10 playoff games, the 22-year-old rookie has allowed just 17 goals while posting a 1.77 goals against average (GAA).Ward let in just five goals in Carolinas four victories over New Jersey as he outplayed his boyhood idol Brodeur. With his stellar play, and the Hurricanes opportunistic offense, led by 100-point scorer Eric Staal, Carolina will be tough to beat.

The Upstart Challenger

The Sabres Miller is the only U.S.-born goalie among the Fab Four.He hopes to duplicate the feat of another rookie American goalie, Ron Hextall, who led the Philadelphia Flyers to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1987.After a shaky start in Game 1 against Ottawa, Buffalos defense and Miller shut down the Senators the rest of the way, allowing two or fewer goals in each of the last four games. The Michigan native has a 2.25 GAA and a .921 save percentage in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Buffalos defense has been stellar in front of Miller. Defensemen Toni Lydman and Henrik Tallinder lead all playoff performers in plus/minus at plus-13.The Sabres offense has been scoring in bunches.Buffalo has a team-leading 43 goals scored in 11 games and is riding high after winger Jason Pominvilles shorthanded, overtime goal clinched the series against Ottawa.

Mr. Perfect Almost

Anaheims Bryzgalov has been the most surprising and impressive of all the rookies.Bryzgalov didnt even enter the playoffs as the Ducks No. 1 goalie. That honor went to Jean-Sebastian Giguere, who led Anaheim to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2003, his second year in the league, and was named the Conn Smythe winner as the MVP of the playoffs that season.

After splitting their first four games against Calgary in Round 1, the Ducks made the switch to Bryzgalov and they havent regretted it.The 24-year-old Russian has practically stood on his head as he is sporting a ridiculous 0.87 GAA and .967 save percentage. He recorded three straight shutouts, including Game 7 at Calgary to clinch that series. In doing so, Bryzgalov set a rookie playoff record, holding opponents scoreless for 249 minutes, 15 seconds.Only Montreals George Hainsworth, 270:08 in 1930, has had a longer playoff scoreless streak.

The Final Four

San Joses Toskala is hoping to join his fellow first-year netminders in the conference finals. After an excellent series against Nashville in Round 1, including a shutout in Game 2, and two 2-1 victories to open the Edmonton series, Toskala and the Sharks find themselves on the ropes as the Oilers have stormed back to take a 3-2 series lead.Edmonton will try to close it out at home on Wednesday night.

San Joses offense is led by Patrick Marleau, who leads all playoff goal scorers with nine. The Sharks will need to get an early lead and help Toskala protect it to force a Game 7 at home on Friday.

The Finals

The matchup between Ward and Miller should be as entertaining as it gets. Both are capable of stealing a game or two for their respective teams.Carolina is the favorite, but Buffalo has a lot of momentum and Miller has shown he can win the close games with four one-goal victories against Ottawa.Look for the Sabres to get to the Finals.

The Ducks have had a long time off after unexpectedly sweeping the Avalanche.Anaheim may be a little rusty to start the conference finals, but the Ducks have good veteran leadership in Scott Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne and will ride the stellar play of Bryzgalov past either the Oilers or the Sharks to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

“Redemption”is key motive- Big Brother All-stars Candidates Released

November 29th, 2011

CBS has announced and posted all 20 potential Big Brother Candidates. The names have been floating around chat forums, blogs, myspace, and fan sites all over the web since the announcement of the show earlier this year. The key for the most of the houseguests? Redemption! Most of the chosen ones made big mistakes somewhere in the game, were stabbed in the back by another player, or just simply played the game wrong.

George
This guy seems to be the type who always tried to fit in by standing out- His nickname, Chicken, came from his duty to guard the household chicken.

Bunky
Bunky is the housguest who is known for his crying. He played the “nice guy” card, and we all know nice guys finish last! Bunky spent most of his time in the house crying, while the people around him tried to manipulate him. His best friend in the house, Kent, who first judged him, still remains a close friend to him outside the house. Bunky wants to come back and play the game completely different- and as he says he won’t cry too!

Will
“You think its easy being good-looking?” Many fans love this guy- why? Because he knows that bad boys are sexy! He called his game playing ruthless and that he planned to lie from day one. He also claims he pioneered the strategy of being evil. He believes people should vote for him because he has a big ego and he would like to try to mix things up a bit.

Mike
“I am the type of guy you want to hang with instead of buying insurance from.” Mike boogie was part of the chill town alliance and he states he liked hanging with the ‘Bratt pack.’ He said his biggest mistake was falling in love with Christa whom he asked to marry on the show, got engaged, and then broke up after the show. He thinks that being ‘in love’ clouded his judgment and wants to show America how strategic he can be. Good friends with Evil Dr. Will, he is wanting to step from beyond his friends shadow and take the lead.

Monica
“It’s on” this girl is strong and a true force of female power. She claims she wants to continue to keep it real and for anyone who tries to get in her way to watch out. She even scares me! A true competitor!

Marcellas
Marcellas was always seen looking at himself in admiration and was quoted saying ” I love looking at myself.” Marcellas is a fan favorite, as since he was evicted he has worked on “House Calls” making comments on all Big Brother houses since his time. Him and Amy were two outcasts that were used to being popular until they entered the big brother house, only to be shunned by all. Marcellas made the mistake of giving up his veto to keep his only friend in the house, in what he refers to as, “a crazy greek tragedy”. Marcellas wants to come back into the house to correct his big mistakes.

Lisa
Lisa- known for her infamous peanut butter bikini- and her quote ” I keep my eyes shut and my mouth open,” was one loud mouth in Big Brother. She is one of the few winners that will attempt to get back into the Big Brother House. This time she wants to come back and play the game although she won the last won she was in. She is ready to dodge bullets, as a past winner, she has nothing to loose.

Danielle
People either love to hate me, or hate to love me” a controversial player that will try to return to the show. In tonight’s show she reflected in what she called “ real and raw” dairy room sessions where she counted down to her victory. She also created a secret alliance with Jason that never uncovered landing them both in the top three. She was so close to winning that the only thing on her mind is “redemption”.

Erika
Erika was really pumped to enter the house in BB4 until she saw her X boyfriend in the shows ex-factor twist. She would like to enter the house and try to win as one of the “good” guys. In BB4 she created a strong alliance with jack, but that alliance was not good enough. She is ready for anything this time and especially ready to redeem herself.

Dana
“I’m soooo pissed off” Dana was known for calling it like it is. She claims her personality is “spicy.” She made her biggest mistake early when she switched sides and voted against her alliance only to get voted out in the next round.

Alison
“A Girls got to do what a girls got to do”- Alison, the houseguest everybody hated. She started off the show seducing all the boys, and in know time she was hated. She said that manipulating men was a part of her strategy as well as telling people exactly what they wanted to hear. She managed to squeak by and win second place, only to be brutally defeated with a 1: 6 vote loss. She believes that the first looser crap is not good enough for her and is coming back strong with vengeance.

Jase
“That was not from Jesus” Full of antics he labeled his BB5 crew, the “Four idiot horseman.” Jase was thrown off guard when he was caught calling out other housguests. He was a rat on a sinking ship pretty fast! Jase believes all-stars would not be the same without him. He wants to be back, wearing head-gear… a Born again houseguest.

Michael
Michael “cowboy” – The only cowboy on big brother wants to return. He began his reign in the house acting wild but that was suddenly halted when he found out he had a sister and a father, and his sister was in the house with him! His sob story drove him to the end where he just missed the money. He thinks that when you get that close to the money its the hardest to loose it. People stated he rode the coattails to the finals, and he is ready to prove he deserves to be the winner.

Nakomis
Nakomis–Jennifer found out that Michael was her brother on the show. She had her own crafty personality, with new hair styles and poetry. Her passionate tirade against the producers, the series and reality shows in general, made her a memorable player in big brother. She states that her relationship with Michael is on and off again today, and that the most painful memory of her eviction was having the single vote that casted her out come from her brother. She wants to be the snake in the grass in the all stars competition

Diane
“When I want something, I get it.” Diane is another one who fell in love on Big brother. She became winner Drew’s girlfriend where later Drew chose to take cowboy Michael over her to the voting round. She stated that being with him costed her the game, and that nobody will break her down. She is also wants to come back in the name of “redemption!”

Howie
Howie made himself known quickly as BUSTO- a man who loves boobies. He was also always trying to be a JEDI and could be seen with his light sabers on several episodes. He had a secret partner Janelle. Howie has made the biggest online appearance creating his own games, starting online chats and promoting his own products. Howie believes “Big brother without Howie is like a day without sunshine.” He also believes he was the best looking guy on the show.

Kaysar
Kaysar was the first Muslim on Big Brother, and although an extremely nice guy he was also an outcast. According to him, people thought they could take advantage of him, and that he was evicted way too early. Kasyar, although unpopular on the show has become extremely popular in reality. He appeared on the soap opera “the young and the restless” as well as an appearance in the new show “half and half.” He is know for his quote ” No, I sealed your partners fate.” Kaysar is a hot pick in several big brother fan forums.

Ivette
“Im going to get Cuban on your ass” She believes that her biggest mistake on the show was choosing the wrong friends and alliances. Often seen on the show as loud and part of the “nerd herd” she wants to ditch those stereotypes and play a different game.

James
“Veto King”
James was not well liked on the show. He claims no one was as feared and as hated as him. He survived because of his ability to capture the most veto’s in big brother history. James promises that he will return with the same tenacity as before. James is also a favorite in forums all over the web.

Janelle
“Bye Bye Bitches!”The most highly quoted, fun loving, big brother candidate. Most houseguests would also love to see her return. Although a Tall foxy blonde, Janelle is know dummy and a strong competitor. She states she will do anything to win…ANYTHING!…

Well what are you waiting for? Vote for your favorites now! Join us at http;//www.morebigbrother.com

The Sharpshooter and the Use of Muscle Relaxants

November 28th, 2011

For centuries, sharpshooters and marksmen have been employed as strategic arsenals or assets by various armed forces and fighting units. The ability to accurately hit someone from a long distance has long been considered one of the quickest ways to wear down an enemy. This was supposedly proven true during the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 when the English longbow prevailed over the French armor. In what was to be the most decisive battle of the Hundred Years’ War, Henry V of England together with 900 soldiers and 5,000 archers were intercepted by French troops that allegedly outnumbered them three-to-one. Making excellent use of the terrain and strategic positioning of the longbowmen allowed the English to wallop the French army. Another more ancient armed conflict that was settled by the power of the long-range weapon was the legendary Battle of Thermopylae. According to the accounts of historian Herodotus, King Leonidas and 300 Spartan warriors together with other non-Spartan volunteers, succumbed to a hail of Persian arrows but only after inflicting a heavy toll on Xerxes’ minions over three days of bloody fighting.

College Basketball Jerseys: Don’t Just Show Your Support — Wear It!

November 28th, 2011

Among the most highly prized possessions that any college basketball player can hope for is their college basketball jersey. The college basketball jersey represents a feeling of pride and belonging to the team.

But the feeling is not restricted to the team. Jerseys are also prized by fellow students, who show up at college games dressed in the same colors to cheer on their team.

Anyone who loves the game will have a favorite team and player. Wearing their jersey creates a special bond.

Some Like It Hot

Due to the heat of indoor playing conditions, basketball jerseys are made of thin material, mostly of mock mesh, dazzle, tricot mesh or pro mesh materials. Jerseys are always sleeveless because long sleeved jerseys would cause the players to sweat too much, creating not only uncomfortable conditions, but unhealthy ones as well. The jerseys are also worn long and loose with large armholes for ventilation.

The NCAA is very strict about the way basketball jerseys are worn on the court and requires all players to tuck in their jerseys.

Color, Numbers And Styles

The tank top jerseys are worn with shorts, which are long and baggy with stretchable waistbands and drawstrings. Each jersey is embossed with the team logo, player number and team name. Every college team likes to customize its basketball jersey, and comes up with a unique color plan.

There are a number of manufacturers who produce wonders with the jersey designs and styles. Reversible jerseys use contrasting fabric on both the inside and outside surfaces, so that they can be worn either way.

The player’s number is required to be on both the back and the front of the jersey. The height of these numbers is required to be 8 inches on the back and 6 inches on the front side. The names of the players are printed in 2-inch high letters. Shortly after 9/11, the NCAA began to allow players to wear the American flag on the jerseys using a 4-inch side insert for this purpose.

Collector’s Items

The demand for replica college jerseys always goes up when the NCAA tournament season begins. There is also a big demand for jerseys worn by the top basketball stars. These replica jerseys, available at several online stores, make a great collector’s item for the avid basketball fan.

Things To Consider When Buying A Pool Table Light

November 27th, 2011

What should you look for when purchasing a pool table light? This article will give you all the information you need in order to purchase a billiard light. Pool table lights come in many shapes and sizes, colors and styles. Assuming you already have the pool table, next you will need to figure out what length of light you will need.

As a general rule of thumb you will need 5 inches of light for every foot of pool table. For example a 7 foot pool table will need a billiard light with a minimum of 35 inches in length preferably 40 inches or more. You do not want to choose a short billiard light that will leave darkness around the edges of the pool table.

Another thing to consider is how high is the ceiling in relation to the pool table? The higher the ceiling, the larger the area the pool table light will cover. How much chain will you need to hang the light? Does the light come hard wired or soft wired? Hardwired means you cut the light on with a wall switch and soft wired means the light must be plugged into a wall outlet and turned on via an inline switch.

Something else you will need to keep in mind is what style of light bulbs will you choose? Florescent or standard?? Many pool table light manufacturers can build your billiard light with either or. So be sure to ask when purchasing your pool table light fixture.

If you really want to get creative with your billiard lighting you dont have to use a traditional pool table light at all. You could use two or three pendant lights that have multiple light bulbs in each pendant to light the pool table adequately. When you think about it that way your lighting options are unlimited. Imagine 2, 3 or even 4 pendant lights hanging all in a row above your billiard table. Each can be wired to turn all of them on with the flip of a single switch or even multiple switches.

Paralegal Schools offer many options to help you get formally trained as a professional paralegal.

Typically a paralegal school will offer an Associate’s Degree Program or a Certificate Program. Also you may find some paralegal schools that offer a Bachelor Degree or a Master Degree.

The Associate’s Degree will take around 2 years of study, the Certificate will only need a few months, while the Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees will require 4 years.

As a whole the job market now require some shape of formal training and diploma. Gone are the days where only some typing skills and a clean pair of shoes assured you a job.

In order to qualify for a Paralegal Certificate you need an Associate or a Bachelor’s degree, but some schools require only a high school diploma or a GED.

Also you may want to consider online paralegal schools. The online courses offer many advantages like schedule flexibility and reduced costs. Each course completed is credited towards the degree. A great advantage of online schools is that many will let you pay each course individually…

You may have already discovered that paralegal schools and online paralegal schools are very abundant to say the least. So I recommend that you take a special approach to select your own school and training. If you plan to study in a formal classroom versus an online paralegal school then obviously the physical location of the schools will help narrow the search, because you may prefer an institution that is close to your home. This step being taken I recommend that you analyze the current job market listings and that you note the training requirements for paralegal or legal assistants hiring. This will greatly help you select the amongst the school offerings and will almost guarantee you a strong position on your future job market.

Many job listings will ask for a Bachelor’s Degree and/or a Certificate and specialized experience and many Junior Paralegal jobs will require training and some general experience.

Note that most paralegal schools will help you get the required base of experience thru internships or externships with various field experience and hands-on training. Also in the case of a career change, a good portion of your actual experience may apply to one of the many specializations of this field. In most cases only a couple years of related experience will be required.

So if you plan a career change or if you want to qualify for an interesting career you may find that Paralegal Schools are the fast track to a really decent salary (40K to over 100K is the norm) and some neat extras like bonuses and a fair amount of independence on the job.

iPod Video Cases – Become The Envy Of All iPod Owners

November 27th, 2011

Lets talk about you for a minute. Remember the last time you were telling someone that you just met that you dont really like following trends and that you are your own person? Haha, that was funny. But seriously, the only problem with being someone (which is to say everyone) who gives great attention to outward appearance, as if its incredibly indicative to the whats on the inside, is not admitting it. I dont care if your shirt has a little guy playing polo, the World Industries skeleton, the promo logo from the last environmental conference you were at, or a picture of Trent Reznor; you are trying to tell the world who you want them to think you are. That bad news is that you do it, the good news is that you can continue to do it with your iPod video case.

So, what are you a scrappy new executive? Well you dont want your iPod case to clash with your handmade fine Italian leather daily planner. No problem, go with the Incase Leather Folio for Ipod. Its sophisticated and offers excellent protection.

Losing the style of your Ipod kind of bother you? You need to go with the Agent 18 VideoShield for 30G iPods. Its super tough, as its not the rubber skin-type, but hard cased. The other great thing about this is that the casing is incredibly thin and practically invisible.

Are you a complete lunatic, like my friend Steve? Then youre probably enjoying your iPod right now, but thinking that its just a matter of time until you destroy it in a moment of madness. Go with the Speck ToughSkin. It offers the ultimate in protection in iPod video cases for those who really put their stuff to the test. Its really rugged and you dont need to change an iota of your behavior issues.

These are just a small example of the variety of iPod video cases that are out there. Theres some many companies that are utilizing (and complimenting) iPods popularity that youre bound to find something to meet your exact needs and stylebecause youre an individual.

Printing Your Own Stickers As Easy As 1-2-3

November 27th, 2011

The digital technology has introduced innovative ideas on printing that has made printing into a pleasurable and enjoyable endeavor. Take for example stickers-stickers are very easy to create especially with the use of Adobe Photoshop. Sticker making has been made so easy that even kids can now create their own stickers. With the use of the shape tools in Adobe Photoshop various sticker projects have become affordable and easy.

The step by step procedure in creating sticker is so easy to follow since the Adobe Photoshop is a user friendly software. The first step in creating your own sticker is to open up the work area in the Adobe Photoshop Elements. This is where you may choose the foreground color that you want your chosen shape to be colored. The chosen color will then appear at the bottom of the Tool Box. After which, you may choose the shape that you want from the Tool Box.

Then try to direct your attention on the Option Bar and then click on the custom shape picker to choose the shape you want. And then open a new document with a preset size of 2×3 at a 300 dpi resolution. Click on the mouse to get hold of your chosen shape and then make use of the shift key down in order to come up either with other shapes or simply make your chosen shape proportional. And if ever you want to add your photo.simply open up your digital photo by applying quick fix to help you in adjusting your photo.

In case your chosen photo requires a little lighting, the Photoshop Elements has quick fix feature that will enable you to make certain adjustments in terms of the brightness and contrast you want your photo to have. After you have chosen the brightness and the contrast you may simply click OK. Now, if ever you still want to reveal or to show the hidden detail in dark shadow areas you may use the Dodge tool which is also found right in the Tool Box.

The next thing to do is to cleanup your subject and to do this you have to use the Crop tool in order to reduce the size of your chosen photo. Make use of the eraser tool to clean up or to remove the large areas surrounding your subject in the photo. But be sure to highlight first the areas that you want to delete. To do this you have to use Magic Wand tool-this tool would help you to remove selected colored areas in your photo. Or you may also use Magnetic Lasso which is a great tool for removing unwanted details.

Then after you have finished editing your photo you may now use the Magic Wand to highlight the background around the image. And afterwards you go to layer and then inverse. Make use of the Move tool to drag over the cut out image and then to position it on the shape you previously chosen.

To print your sticker you may click on the file and then print layouts and then picture package. This printing procedure is best especially for various layouts of one multiple images on a page. The next thing to do is to insert a page of removable labels upside-down in the printer and then print away.

The Chicago Cubs Legend – Ernie Banks

November 27th, 2011

It is often difficult to compare the legendary players of Major League Baseball in that by making comparisons based on statistics, the focus generally falls on the sheer performance on the field. It also tends to reflect on what effect those numbers have had in the teams success and how an individual players success has bolstered a team to championship levels. Other players, no matter how individually successful, are too often viewed in an also-ran status because of the perception that their effort never was enough to allow the team to stand on a championship podium. Baseball is a team sport, yet a team sport loosely based on individual effort. Looking past the numbers to the intangibles of attitude and enthusiasm for the game, the greatness of a player cannot be judged merely on statistics. Ernie Banks is one such player in MLB history.

Ernie Banks was one of the greatest players, coaches and personalities to ever don a Cubs Uniform. Considered by many to be the most popular player ever, Banks was known to be a likable fellow. He was easy-going and was a friend to everyone he knew. Some sources say that he originated the phrase “I never met a man I didnt like.” Banks was quiet and unassuming. He let his bat and his glove do the talking for him. He had an unending enthusiasm for the game of baseball. As the legend goes, after the Cubs finished getting stomped twice in a double-header, Ernie Banks reportedly suggested; “lets play three.” On numerous occasions, Banks was quoted as having said; “Its a beautiful day for a baseball game. Lets play two!” Any picture of Ernie Banks from his playing days exudes the joy he derived from playing the game of baseball. There are none that dont feature that broad, infectious smile that he has become famous for. He was so popular, in fact, he became known as Mr. Cub. Many sources attribute the never-say-die and “baseball is fun” attitude of the Cubs organization directly to Ernie Banks.

Even though the Chicago Cubs last World Series triumph was in 1908 and their last appearance in the World Series was in 1945 (which they dramatically lost in a seventh game), there still exists no greater hopeful and inspired team in MLB than Chicagos “lovable losers”. Hope springs eternal, as they say, and after nearly 100 years, “eternal” is starting to live up to its reputation as being a very, very long time.

The woes of the Cubs have been compounded over the years. They produced a twenty-year stretch (1947-1967) of finishing in the lower half of their division for the regular season, partly during the Ernie Banks era. Yet, every new season brings with it the possibility of getting to the World Series and finally breaking the “billy goat curse”, a curse put on Wrigley field and the Cubs during the fifth game of the 1945 World Series. As the story goes, a local Chicago bar owner attended the game and was allowed entrance under somewhat unusual circumstances. When ordered to leave Wrigley field for bringing his goat with him, reportedly a “foul smelling goat”, Billy Sianis curse was issued to the effect that a World Series would never again be played in the confines of Wrigley field.

As the myth surrounding the validity of the curse grows with each passing non-contention season, it has a simple and comfortable existence in baseball, the sport that prefers urban myth, legend and superstition to logic. In 2003, the curse was nearly broken when the Cubs matched up with the Atlanta Braves for the National League Divisional Series. With a 3-game to 2 lead in the series and winning game 6 at 3-0 in the top of the eighth inning against the Florida Marlins, the “billy goat curse” infused itself once again. The Cubs lost game 6 and then eventually lost game 7, which meant no chance for a World Series game to be played at Wrigley Field. The Marlins went on to win the World Series in 2003.

Ernie Banks never had the opportunity to play in the League Championship Series, the World Series, or any post-season game. He did, however, take pride in himself, and his ball-club by consistently leading the league in many areas. Banks was an all-star every season from 1955 to 1962. He also made the all-stars cut in 1965, 1967 and 1969. Setting an early standard for future Iron Men, Banks played in 424 consecutive games from the day he became a Cub, a record at the time. His longest consecutive game streak stands at 717. He hit 40 homeruns in 1955, a record for MLB shortstops, and led the National League in homers in 1958 with 47 over-the-fence blasts. Banks hit 5 grand slams in 1955, and topped 100 RBIs. He was awarded the NL Most Valuable Player in 1958 and again in 1959. A mind-blowing accomplishment if we take into consideration the fact that the Cubs were no where close to being in contention for winning the division pennant. His 1959 MVP season boasted 45 homeruns and led the League with 143 RBIs. Ernie Banks earned the NL Golden Glove award at shortstop in 1960, and had the fewest errors in MLB. He also led the National league in homers and RBIs that year.

Over the course of his career, Ernie Banks became the Cubs all-time leader in:

* Games played (2,528)
* At-bats (9,421)
* Total bases (4,706)
* Home runs (512)

Banks also established many NL records, entered into the MLB Hall of Fame in 1977, and his number 14 was the first to be retired by the Cubs. When finished with playing in 1971, he went on to coaching with the Cubs. In May of 1973, when Cubs manager Whitey Lockman was ejected for arguing a call, Banks managed the rest of the game. He was technically the first African-American to manage in Major League Baseball.

Infused into the heart of every Cub fan (and there are many) is the spirit and exuberance and the love for the game of baseball that was epitomized by Ernie Banks. He brought so much more than just outstanding performances and good statistics to the game. He did so with vigor, zest and a capacity to enjoy the game that has incurably infected Cub fans all over this planet.

The State Park Pass

November 27th, 2011

Camping is a great past time or mini vacation that can be enjoyed as an individual, as a couple or as a family. Many people enjoy camping at state parks, where the amenities are plentiful and the fees are affordable. The wonderful thing about the state park systems is that they offer ample opportunities for the public to enjoy the great outdoors as nature intended. No matter what state you live in, theres almost always a state park within reasonable driving distance from your home.

State parks are great for camping when they are less crowed during the weekdays, but on the weekends and in the warmer months, they become very busy. Most people seek out the more secluded areas to camp in for more privacy and so they are not bothered with rowdy nearby campers. Having a reasonable distance between campsites is more desirable to campers and this is considered when choosing a state park to purchase a pass from. Not many people choose over crowded state parks with campers elbow to elbow, they want their own space.

The best way to plan a camping trip to a state park is to first select which state park you want to camp at, check the availability of the camp sites and get the reservation information you need and then obtain a pass. Most of this information is available online with comparable charts to make it easier to choose a state park with all the amenities youre looking for. Especially if you are a camping enthusiast that frequently goes camping at a particular state park, obtaining a pass can be a great benefit. Some passes can give you rights to a specific location and you can buy these passes each time you visit or by the season or the year.

Campers love these state park passes because it allows them easy access to a fantastic facilities used to make your camping experience more comfortable and more enjoyable. Some of the amenities state parks will offer are: clean restrooms, hot showers, convenience stores, tackle shop, boat rental, boat launches, marinas, weekend movies, playgrounds, small beach, hiking trails, fire pit, horse riding and other planned activities. Although the restrooms are public, they are often kept clean and sanitary. The stores are great for buying food and necessities, because no matter how carefully you plan, something will most likely be forgotten. Being able to rent a boat is great if you enjoy boating, but dont actually own a boat and you wont have to lug a boat to and from the camp site. The playgrounds, weekend movies and other planned activities are wonderful for keeping the kids busy so mom and dad can relax and enjoy themselves.

Many of these state parks also offer electric, water and garbage or dump stations for your convenience, but may charge a small fee in addition to your state park pass to use them extra amenities. All of these amenities are regularly offered to those RV campers and to those campers who use tents and sleep with nature. Many of these amenities may vary from state to state and park to park and are to be considered a privilege and used responsibly. Any irresponsible usage of the state parks amenities can revoke your rights to use them and any violation of rules can have you banned from the park.

For many of those outdoor enthusiasts, no summer is complete without spending quality time in the great outdoors. Camping is the best way for some people to get away from their everyday lives and to commune with nature and find the peace and relaxation their body needs. Camping is the perfect way of getting away from the television, computer, telephones, traffic and everything else that can distract a person from the ultimate relation the body needs.

Its important to show respect for all amenities in the state park, camp responsibly, and clean up after yourself. If you make a mess, clean it up. If something breaks, tell the park rangers about it immediately, so it can be fixed or replaced in time for the next campers. Especially if this is a state park that you would like to return to, leave the camp site in the condition you have found it, or even better.

Go Kart Engine Repair – Ignition System Diagnostics Part II

November 26th, 2011

Ignition System Trouble Shooting.

Last time we discussed how magnetic fields cause current to flow in wires. The current flow is then harnessed to make the spark plugs work.

Now we will discuss how to trouble shoot this system.

First of all the system consists of:

-A flywheel with a magnet

-A magneto with a main coil and a switching coil

-An On/Off wire

-A spark plug and spark plug wire.

That’s it.

{In the olden days you had a switching circuit called points, but I will not bore you with that. I have several old motors that have points. (If you are really interested in points I will write an article about trouble shooting those…but not today.)}

So what’s the problem?

The problem is that I was riding my go kart… blew the chain… made a massive clunk…engine still ran right up until I shut it off. I replaced the chain and now it won’t start.

What do I do? Cry?? Uh…No…

First off all look at the system. So the engine not running must be symptomatic of

-No Gas

-Flooded (too much gas)

-No compression

-No Spark

-Switch is off!

So yes, I checked.. there is gas. (check!)

The engine has nice resistance and compression (no thrown rods, no loose valves, everything is tight…) (check)

Yes I checked it was ON! Also I removed the off wire from the switch near the engine. Still nothing. (check)

Pulled the spark plug out and tested for spark:

No Spark:

The possible causes for no spark are:

Faulty Spark Plug (ie short circuiting because of ash contaiminents, broken insulator, too much gas on plug)

Or a faulty ignition mechanism

Well I cleaned the plug well. Used a different plug…

Note: But you know what I should have done first? I should have taken the plug wire and tried it against the engine. Well I tried that too: no spark.

Not looking good here… What do we do next?

This is where stuff starts coming apart.

Understand that the system involves the flywheel, so we need to access it and see if the flywheel is okay.

By “okay” I mean the following:

-Is there a magnet in it anymore?

-Did it get damaged? (very unlikely) Check with screwdriver: does it stick? (check, yes there is a magnet)

The next critical thing is to check the keyway. 8 times out of 10 the key gets sheared. This can occur from sudden stops of the engine. A sudden stop can occur from various reasons such as a broken chain grabbing hold of an activated clutch. An instantaneous shock load can be introduced into the system.

The other way an engine can be come jammed suddenly is if the rod blew inside, or the engine ran out of oil (seized up).

Next time…. What happened to the ignition system?

What Is Abstract Art? One Artists Point Of View

November 26th, 2011

So many people must be asking this question all the time … and not getting satifactory answers because I keep seeing articles on the subject.

So, to add to the mix, I thought that, because I am an Abstract Artist, I would give my answer.

First lets see what the official version has to say. The second definition of “abstract” in the Concise Oxford Dictionary says “Idealistic, not practical; abstruse; (Art etc.) free from representational qualities” And it is this last description I want to look at.

That which is free from representational qualities is a picture (or other type of art discipline) that does not depict any recognisable image such as a figure, building, or sky. There is no purposeful reference to anything physically particular. Jackson Pollock, for instance, was one of the first abstract artists and produced the finest of examples… take a look at this: www.nga.gov/feature/pollock/painting.html

If you study this image closely it will soon become apparent that he randomly dripped paint onto a board laying flat on the floor. And if you read up a bit about him you will find that he even suspended paint-filled cans above a board, punched holes in the bottom of the can, and allowed the cans to swing, or be nudged, the paint slowly dripping to give a totally no-representative image. The important thing to remember here is that he had no intention of producing any kind likeness to anything physical whatsoever. So this style of art is truly an abstract work.

The difficulty comes when a piece of art is produced in a very loose and, even, child like way. Some might regard it as abstract. Here is an example of what I believe is NOT abstract art: go to www.guzzardi.it/arte/ then on the left side click on “Artisti Ceris” then click “D” go to the fourth name from the bottom “Jean Dubuffet” and click “Art Brut” there you will find three images of his work … each one depicts roughly painted figures and faces, and although the left hand image looks like imageless lines I do believe there are faces to be seen there (Don’t get me wrong - Jean Dubuffet produced many abstract works … in fact that is what he was most famous for … it’s just that these examples are not).

Some might call these Dubuffet paintings semi-abstract – but I do not. For me there is no such thing – either the picture does not represent anything … or it does – no matter how basic.

Another puzzle might be the later works of Mark Rothko. Look here: http://www.nga.gov/feature/rothko/late7.shtm Some might argue that a basic rectangular shape could be regarded as a representational image. But you need to read about his life and philosophy to understand that he was not painting rectangles but what has become known as colour fields. The scale of his massive works and the fact that he gave up even titling his pieces should dispell any possibility of his work being anything other than the purer form of abstract art.

I would like to finish with one of my own enigmatic examples: www.ablot.com/passion3.htm in which I have sort to “portray” the idea of deep or spiritual movement. Such an explanation is, of course, dangerous in that I have used words like “portray”, “spiritual” and “movement” – all of these have associations … but not necessarily physical ones! It is my belief that there is a relationship to be had with my spirit … and it is the purist form of abstraction. You can find out more about that in my blog on my website.

The only other thing to say here is that the abstract artist is seeking to put on canvas such non-figurative “imagery” as emotion, thought, the greater self, anarchy, and total randomness … to name but a few. And I intend to examine these “non-figures” in a bit more detail in my articles starting with “How to produce an abstract image – Part 2″ You will be very welcome to come along and read it!
